The Beginning of Toyoda (Thailand)

The company was established on January 5, 1957, under the name Toyoda (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

The company began by importing consumer goods, industrial machinery, and automobile tires from Japan, marking an important milestone as the first Toyota Tsusho Group company established outside Japan.
Its first head office was located at the corner of Patpong and Silom Roads, which was emerging as Bangkok’s new international business district at the time. The company began with 27 employees.

From Growth to Business Expansion

The company recorded sales of THB 80 million and entered a period of expansion by establishing new companies from businesses developed within the organization. Despite challenges during the transition, the company achieved strong growth, with sales increasing to THB 480 million eight years later.

A New Head Office on Asoke–Din Daeng Road

The company relocated its head office to Asoke–Din Daeng Road to support business growth and an expanding workforce of 115 employees.

Becoming Toyota Tsusho (Thailand)

On July 30, 1987, the company changed its name to Toyota Tsusho (Thailand) Co., Ltd., following the renaming of its parent company. This marked another important step in aligning its corporate identity with the Toyota Tsusho Group worldwide and entering a more internationally connected era.

Laying the Foundation for Transport and Logistics

Toyota Transport (Thailand) Co., Ltd.¹ was established to provide freight transport services and support customers’ supply chain management.

Combining Expertise for Growth

The company merged with Kasho International (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to strengthen its business capabilities and broaden the scope of its operations.

Expanding into Technology and Industrial Solutions

Toyota Tsusho Systems (Thailand) Co., Ltd.² was established to provide information technology services, while TT Fuji Tool Support Co., Ltd.³ was established to supply tools and equipment for the industrial sector.

Building New Business Areas

TT Automotive Steel (Thailand) Co., Ltd.⁴, Green Metals (Thailand) Co., Ltd.⁵ and TT Insurance Broker (Thailand) Co., Ltd.⁶ were established, expanding the Group’s capabilities across steel processing, resource circulation, and insurance brokerage services.

Combining Strengths with the Tomen Group

The company merged with Tomen (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Tomen Enterprise (Bangkok) Ltd., bringing together complementary expertise and further strengthening its business capabilities.

Expanding Our Mobility Expertise

Toyota Tsusho Forklift (Thailand) Co., Ltd.⁷ was established to further develop the forklift and industrial equipment business and provide material-handling solutions.

Strengthening Logistics Services

Toyota Tsusho Logistics Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd.⁸ was established to provide import and export services, customs clearance, and business operation support.

A Major Organizational Transformation

The company entered a new chapter of global business operations by becoming a wholly foreign-owned company, with Toyota Tsusho Corporation holding 100% of its shares. This strengthened its ability to connect with the expertise, resources, and global network of the Toyota Tsusho Group. Toyota Tsusho Thai Holdings Co., Ltd. was also established to build a stronger Group structure in Thailand and support future growth.

Transitioning to 8 Mission-based Divisions

The organization shifted from product-based business groups to mission-based divisions, working together to create value and respond to a changing world.
